As sappy as it is, there really aren't any words for what you experience at camp. I've met my best friends and had my best experiences at Tamarack-- it goes way beyond the activities, the songs, the services, into a world where you can escape everything and just be ecstatic to be surrounded by the best people in the best place in the world!!

I first started working for Tamarack Camps in 2001 after being hired at an International Job Fair. Not knowing anything about Summer Camps (and very little about Judaism) I made the trip across the world to Ortonville, MI and five years later am preparing to leave for another summer. Every year I am made to feel so welcome by the children, families and staff I have met while working on main camp, family camp and a teen travel trip. Camp is such a wonderful community and offers great experiences and opportunities. I can't imagine not coming back year after year.

There has been no single experience that has engulfed my life more then camp. The summers at Tamarack have been a time where I have strengthened my past friendships and created new life friends. Also, Tamarack has taught me how Judaism can be both fun and meaningful at the same time. Working as a counselor, it gives me a great feeling to help other campers have the same experiences that I’ve had. With Tamaracks camper oriented approach and low camper to staff ratio, every child receives the individual attention they need. Tamarack Camps will always be my second home. There is no place that I would rather be.

Hello, hello.  It’s only been like 12 hours since we left camp and I really miss all of you.  I just wanted to say what an AMAZING time I have had with all of you. We create a spontaneous community that is so tight and so loving, and then its gone as fast as it arrived.  It’s worth it for sure, but the sadness at the end is always as heavy as the love shared throughout the summer.  I feel very fortunate to share this unique situation with all of you guys. Thank you guys for sharing this with me and for making life seem beautiful.
